Mynt Lounge
If there is one club on Miami Beach synonymous with exclusivity, it is Mynt Lounge.
Mynt Lounge has reigned supreme over the past decade as the definitive place to be seen on 2100 block of Collins, in South Beach. Mynt has earned the reputation for having the very tightest door policy in Miami. This is great for some, and a big turn-off for others.

Review by Adam Stone
I consider myself to be a pretty lucky dude. My job consists of traveling to some large metropolitan areas over the next couple of months to review the hot spots in each city. I still can’t believe that I get paid for this! But it’s all to bring you, the loyal DudeRated.com reader, the very best information regarding what is hot and what is not in the dating world. I work hard, so you won’t have to!
I started off my tour with Mynt Lounge, in Miami. I chose Mynt after consuling with the local scenesters and those in the know. Mynt Lounge prides itself on having a guest list that is among the most exclusive in Miami. This means that if you end up making it past the bouncer and in to the club, you’re likely to see some celebs.
This is the catch, though. Unless you are extremely good looking, ridiculously wealthy, famous, and very well dressed, your chances of actually getting in to Mynt Lounge are pretty slim. There are some ways to get in though, which I’ll discuss later.
Decor
When you do make it in, and you will, if you are patient, and continue reading, you’ll notice that the interior features some pretty swanky green lighting and the walls are adorned with modular white couches that run the entire length of the lounge. There are 20-foot tall screens lining the walls, displaying a continuous movie or picture that goes along with the feel of the music. They’ve got sort of a retro modern chic contemporary thing goin’ on in there. It’s nice. The one complaint that I have is that there is not much space for dancing, and it tends to get extremely crowded.

Female Selection
The next thing you’ll notice is that everyone in the club is gorgeous. The women are absolutely stunning, and the ratio of women to men is definitely in your favor. There is not much space to dance on the dance floor, and it can get pretty crowded, but wading through the beautiful women was a pretty good time. I recommend getting a table if you plan to drink. It’s also easier to chat up the ladies when you invite them to sit at your table. Table service is expensive, though, so be prepared to spend some bucks. Making it in to the club is the difficult part. Once you’re in, talking to women is a piece of cake. Everyone is there to have a good time, so striking up a conversation and/or dancing with a beautiful woman is remarkably easy.

Price
There is a $20 cover charge, and drinks are a little on the pricey side. It’s Miami, though, and that goes with the territory. Your best bet here is to buy a bottle and get a table if you can. It will set you back at least a couple hundred bucks, but it’s money well spent.

Gaining Access
Mynt is a tough place to get in to. If you are a dude, or in a group of a bunch of dudes, forget it. You’re not getting in, unless you’re a celebrity. The best advise I can give you is make sure to dress as sharp as you are capable of dressing, and bring women. If you have good looking female friends, or can convince a group of girls to join you or your group beforehand with the intent of getting in the door – do it. This is your best chance. Your chances of getting in to Mynt increases directly proporationatly to the female to male ratio of your group. It’s also a good idea to register on Mynt’s online guest list beforehand. I’ve heard this is hit or miss, but in certainly can’t hurt your chances.
It’s tough to get in, which kind of sucks. But on the other hand, it’s not a bad way to keep the riffraff and hooligans from spoiling everyone’s night. It’s also part of Mynt’s charm. If you’re fortunate to get past the bouncers, you’ll feel like your part of the exclusive group inside, and that’s kind of cool.

Music
Mynt has an eccelectic range of music. The DJ’s spin some pretty sweet tunes, ranging from Hip Hop and House to Electronica and Dance. The sound system is amazing, and the music always felt like it fit the setting and mood of the lounge. It’s top notch, and perhaps the best thing Mynt has going for it.

Overall
Mynt is a good time. If you have some extra dough to spend, and are looking for a good night out (Thursday through Saturday is best), I recommend checking out Mynt Lounge. Dress well, prepare to spend some dough, and bring some wing-women with you if you’re with a group of guys, and you’ll have a blast.
